On the way to the garage today I noticed that our big, beautiful, leafy broccoli plant was now flattened dead and ready for the compost pile. Sad, sad day. We have lost two broccoli plants to rabbits and one to…Penny. Penny has taken an interest in our garden this year. There have been quite a few casualities: pepper plants, tomato plants and now our sad broccoli. It also looks like she tried to take a nap in the peony bush. Sigh.
Penny is not a good farm dog. And we are not quite “successful” at gardening this year. Live and learn, next year, we will be ready.
(Sidenote: ignore the weeds…bedrest does not lead to good garden maintenance).
